Staying on a budget

Spent $128.37
Saved $97.67

Just finished my grocery shopping trip for Thanksgiving and food for the week.  Didn't do too bad!  I started couponing about 2 years ago and now I can't stop.  Trust me, there are days that I don't want to do it but the guilt of spending more money than I need to kills me. It does take work and time, but I find it to be worth it. I have put us on a budget of $300 a month for groceries and other household items.  Every grocery trip, I log in the amount I spent and saved in an excel spreadsheet. I also have a monthy calendar that I write out my meals for the week.  I base my meals on the meat that is on sale and my stockpile. So far this month, I have spent $274 and saved $183.  Sometimes with coupons, I end up getting free stuff.  Like today, I got a free Rachael Ray magazine and mozzarella cheese.  I will be heading to walgreens later today to get my free reynolds wrap with coupon.  Well I am off to enjoy my Rachael Ray magazine while my italian beef is cooking in the crock pot for dinner!

  3. Thats awesome! I am an avid clipper and often go to th company's website to see if they have one online. Balmex ALWAYS has a $1 off Farm Rich (Jason's french toast sticks) often has one too. I ususally spend $150 a week and save between $30 and $60. How do you do it?!

  4. MomlovesJason,

    Check out these sites:

    http://www.afullcup.com/
    http://www.iheartpublix.com/

They give you all the coupons to go with the ads. I usually buy BOGO's and use a coupon for each item. Publix will let you do that. I also try to stack a store coupon with a manufacturer, so that I can buy the item dirt cheap or even get it free. If Publix has an item on sale and I know it is somehting I tend to use, I buy it and stockpile it. I have never paid for toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner. If you need any help with it, I would be more than happy to!
